Tips
It's
always vital to first seek the expertise of a professional and
to look around you at women whose brows you may admire to best
address the shaping of brows. Word of mouth goes a long way.
For those of you who are unable to see an expert, I want to
share some practical advice that will help you to create your
own ideal brow shape and style at home.
DETERMINE
YOUR IDEAL SHAPE IN 3 EASY STEPS
Step
1: Determining Eye Space
The space between brows should be in accordance with the shape
of your nose, the distance between your eyes and the width of
the actual eye. The farther apart your eyes are, the closer
to the nose the brows must be to create an elongated illusion.
Hold a brow pencil parallel to the upper bridge of the nose
on each side (see arrow 1). Tweeze above the nose in between
the 2 parallel lines.
Step
2: Determining the Arch
To locate the high point of your arch, hold the pencil parallel
to the outside corner of the iris (see arrow 2).
Step
3: Determining the Length
To determine the length of your ideal brow shape hold the pencil
diagonally (at a 45° angle) from the nostril, following
the outside corner of the eye to the temple (see arrow 3). Where
the pencil ends is where your brow tail should end.
The
ideal eyebrow shape is different for every face.
Trends are meaningless to the Queen of the Arch.
Bell
bottoms arent for everyone.
I look for the shape that is going to enhance a persons
face
give it luminosity, balance and lift.
No
one knows brows like Eliza. To Eliza, eyebrows do more than
just the practical function of filtering foreign objects from
the eyes. Eyebrows can change your looks - completely! They
can make a face look sexy, intriguing, happy, polished or even
wild - all with just a bit of subtle modification. Famous for
pioneering the classically elongated eyebrow shape, Eliza has
transformed the brow into an extension of fashion. One look,
and Eliza knows just what's needed. She can completely change
a face or simply improve upon what's already there, helping
to bring out the "true you."
Creating
perfect eyebrows isn't just about trimming, plucking and tweezing.
It's about creating a look. A style. A feeling. It's about creating
beauty. You wouldnt cut your own hair, why would
you try to shape your own eyebrows? she concludes, truly
puzzled.
Some common
errors to look out for:
Eyebrows to close
Eyebrows too far apart
Eyebrows too bushy
Eyebrows too thin
Eyebrows arched too high |

Some
helpful tips:
Never trim the very last hairs from the eyebrow
tail.
Never tweeze the hairs at the end of the eyebrow.
Brush and fix them with gel. The longer the better.
Use brow pencil or powder prior to using brow gel
to avoid clumping. |
|
Here
are some more helpful hints:
1.
Prepare the skin.
2.
Tweezing after a shower and/or using a toner is best.
3. Since it may cause redness, avoid tweezing
before an important event.
4. Do not wax if: > You have peeling skin
****You have had a recent laser treatment or cosmetic
facial work
****You use Accutane, Retin-A or other prescription
acne medications
5.
Do not shave eyebrows.
6. Do not tweeze white hairs from the brow; color
them.
7. If you need more guidance, Eliza recommends
that you see an accredited professional.

Youve gone to the trouble of scheduling an appointment,
and spent weeks letting your eyebrows grow in. Here

TRIMMING, TWEEZING
AND FINISHING
I. Trimming:
Trimming should always
be done before tweezing. Use my Curved Scissors [link
all products to Brow Boutique] for precise cutting . Divide
your trimming into 2 parts: the first ¾ of the brow (from nose
to end of arch), should be trimmed with brows hairs brushed
vertically, while the outer ¼ should be brushed on an angle
to avoid cutting the hair too short.
Use my Spiral
Brow Brush to brush the hair upwards and trim any
excess hairs above the brow line. Brush the second section at
an angle towards the temple and make sure not to cut the hair
too short.
Caution:
Never trim the last few hairs of your tail, the longer the tail,
the better your eyebrows will look. Do not cut the hair too
short, as it can create spiky brows. Trimming at the wrong angle
creates gaps.
II. Tweezing:
The vital step to creating Eliza's signature
well-groomed brow, tweezing should be done after a shower, when
the skin is supple, in good lighting.
After you have selected your ideal shape, based
on the guidelines above, brush the eyebrows upward. Look in
the mirror and use your opposite hand to gently pull the skin
from the outer edge of the eye area and pull one hair at a time.
Hold the tweezers from the middle to have a good grasp. Repeat
on other side, making sure to check frequently to assure symmetry.
Use my Slanted Tweezers (best
for beginners and men) or Pointed Tweezers
(for tweezing pros) to remove one hair at a time with a quick
motion in the direction of the hair growth. Tweeze 2 or 3 rows
of hair, and resist the temptation to over do it.
Gently pull the skin towards the forehead and
remove any stray hairs between the brows. Check to see that
your brows are symmetrical and when refining your shape tweeze
a few hairs from one brow, then go to the other side, until
both eyebrows are even.
III. Finishing:
I have developed a collection of finishing
products to help you achieve your perfect brow.
Chose one of my Definer/Eyeliner
to complement your skin tone. Using a steady hand and holding
the skin up to the arch, follow the brow line and outline the
arch.
To fill in sparse brows or bald areas, use
my Chunky Filler , matched to your skin tone
using light feathery strokes to achieve a fuller look.
Use my Brow Powder Trio with
the Angled Brush for those of you who prefer
a softer coverage. Match your skin tone accordingly.
Set your look with my Brow Shaper Gel
to keep hair in place. It is recommended for everyone
to achieve a slick, polished look and will even condition the
hair!
Caution:
Use pencils and/or powder before applying Brow
Shaper Gel to avoid clumping.
